Lab Manager Position

Applications are invited for a full-time lab manager position to begin in early Summer 2026. The individual who fills this position will be involved in all aspects of the research process, with duties including (but not limited to):

  • Coordinating daily lab operations and maintaining study protocols and lab resources (website, manuals, standard operating procedures, documentation)

  • Collecting, entering, managing, and ensuring quality of clinical, behavioral, neurocognitive, and MRI data

  • Recruiting, screening, scheduling, consenting, and running participants through study protocols, including MRI scanning

  • Supervising undergraduate research assistants

  • Assisting with IRB management, grant applications, data processing and analysis, and manuscript preparation.

 

Training for all aspects of the position, including MRI certification, will be provided. Flexible scheduling is required (e.g., evenings, weekends, and some holidays will be required). This is an excellent position for candidates interested in gaining research experience prior to graduate school in psychology, neuroscience, or related fields. 

 

Required qualifications include: BA/BS in psychology, neuroscience, or related field; one year of human subjects research experience; demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent; demonstrated organizational, time-management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills; and attention to detail; a willingness to be trained and certified to conduct MRI scans.

Undergraduate Research Assistants

Undergraduate Research Assistants in the SPAN Lab collaborate with other lab members on research projects. Responsibilities may include screening and interviewing participants, assisting with data collection and management, and the opportunity to assist with neuroimaging (fMRI) studies.
